A Natural Life

The website here is the result of a life long interest in nature, the natural world & art.

From a young age I was fascinated by butterflies, bugs & wild flowers. In my teens, discovered silk moths. On leaving school I went into horticulture which led to the cut flower industry. Here working in wholesale, retail & eventually my own business.

The interest in botany & art led me to Michael Hickey who taught traditional pen & ink botanical illustration in Cheltenham. Later studying at Kew & eventually botany & botanical illustration at Birmingham University.

2007 was a move to North Herefordshire. All changed. I taught myself to spin & weave the silk from my moths. The weaving has moved on to include other natural yarns. 2 acres of ancient & wild flower meadows to loose myself in & room to expand the Madeira flora into something wonderful, the Madeira Garden.
